Cataclysm is an upcoming 2016-2017 disaster-drama film produced by JAStudios, along with minor help from ST477 Films, the director and writer being Johnairways8 on ROBLOX.
Plot
In the midst of an unprecedented global catastrophe, a Navy officer and his roommate must escape from numerous crumbling cities to safety as the world is torn apart by devastating earthquakes around them.
Production
After watching San Andreas the day it was released in May 2015, Johnairways8 was inspired to return to ROBLOX filmmaking to recreate a disaster film based off of his last one, 2012 Apocalypse, but with far-improved ways of filming and editing rather than the ROBLOX record GUI and Windows Movie Maker, and even going as far as having the movie with voice actors rather than subtitles, as used in previous works. At first, he was unsure that he would be able to pull off a full film, recognizing his previous ones were never finished. In September, he made the decision that greenlit Cataclysm.
Johnairways8 announced in August 2015 that the script is being written. As of November 2016, it remains to be a slight work in progress while he fills in plot around major points within the film and to smooth out certain scenes.
Filming for part 1 has been on and off since the movie's announcement, initially beginning on September 9th, 2015 and paused on September 14th. It resumed on October 24th and stopped once more on November 12th. It remained on hiatus until July 26th, 2016 where filming resumed, briefly paused again October 14th, and resumed October 29th.
Filming for part 1 is expected to finish in November at its current progress, with a release date set for December 21st. This is done so Johnairways8 can ensure all voice lines and editing can be completed ahead of time. Filming for part 2 will not commence until February or March, as Johnairways8 is wanting to take a break from filming this movie for a short while, and he has also made an announcement searching for actors for a new project that will be filmed over December going into early 2017.
Cataclysm was originally scheduled for release in August 2016, but was later moved to September, and then December. It was also then announced to be released in two parts, then later on, a full movie.
The first teaser trailer was released on August 26th. The main trailer was released on October 10th, 2015. In April 2016, the second teaser was released. A third teaser may come after part 1's release to announce part 2.

Trivia
- Cataclysm is the newly-renamed studio's first film, and the first in nearly three years, but in total, is the 4th major film directed and produced by Johnairways8. It is considered a first for the studio overall due to the fact that it is not being made using the ROBLOX record GUI or Windows Movie Maker.
- The film's intro has been remade several times to be made more interesting as well as a change in music.
- The film will use voice acting rather than subtitles. Future films, however, will most likely return to using subtitles.
- Part 1 will include an 18-second ending that will not appear in the full version of the film.
- The full movie will include one or two extra scenes not previously in parts 1 or 2.
- Cataclysm is considered a reboot and is based off of a previously-cancelled movie made by the same studio, 2012 Apocalypse. It is also based off of and inspired by the real 2015 film, San Andreas, and will include numerous references to it.
- Originally, the twin towers of the World Trade Center, despite being set in present-time, were set to make an appearance in the movie (they make a brief appearance in the main trailer). This was done to imply an alternate-timeline where 9/11 never occurred, but this has since changed for the sake of future films and to avoid controversy.
