Dance is a 2014 short written and directed by Brisingric. Based on a true story, the short follows a kid named Jacob as he goes looking for his friend, Leo, who has run out of the school dance. The short was released on February 9, 2014, to mostly positive reviews. A remastered edition was released on August 23, 2015.

Two sequels to the short have been released, creating the Friendship Trilogy. One, named Finale, was released on March 1, 2014. The other, named Au Revoir, was released on March 10, 2014. A planned reboot of the series was to be released in 2015, but was later cancelled.

Jacob runs out of the school dance to find his best friend, Leo, who ran off from the dance. When Jacob finds him, he has to talk to Leo about an important lesson he needs to learn.

Production History

On February 7th, at the annual school dance, Bris had to talk to his friend Leo in a bathroom stall after he ran out crying. The reason was he saw his best friend and the girl he loved dancing, and he couldn't take it. The next day, Brisingric took the short to ROBLOX and filmed it with the help of Routess.

The short was edited within a couple of hours on February 9th and subsequently released. It was taken down in late June 2015, after Brisingric decided to leave ROBLOXiwood. When Brisingric returned in August 2016, it was reuploaded.

Reception has been mixed to positive, with the positives going to the story and lesson, and the negative being some of the shots and the music.

Not a big fan of the music as something in the background, but it was fine. The shots could have been a little better in some parts. The story was a little too dramatic and unrealistic for kids that I presume are that age to talk about, especially since it's talking about relationships. I give it a 7.2/10. Popsfootloose949
I find the music kind of off putting, but the story was great. The lesson in the end was also great too, I wish this could have been longer, like seeing what happens when he walks in the dance, or showing the trigger of him feeling like this. Although I bet this is also relatable to many other people, because I bet most of us have been in this position before, I rate this a 8.5/10 :). Routess

  • The original cut's music was auto-changed with Youtube to a different song that Brisingric thought fit better.
  • The short was made with little to no planning.
  • The short was originally not made with the intention of creating a series.
  • A remastered version was uploaded on August 23, 2015, with new music and a few minor changes. The original short ran for around 2 minutes, the remastered runs for about 2:30. This remastered version was later taken down, as Bris wanted the short to be viewed as it originally was seen.
