Hi Everyone,
It is to my incredible regret that I must inform you all that due to several demotivating recent events that the film 'A Mercenary in New York' has been cancelled and MAYHEM Entertainment will be shutdown. This is a sudden development, which has come as a surprise even to myself. I know that many of you in addition to myself were looking forward to the film and the company's future projects, but this was unavoidable, and I have found no way around it. Heck, I couldn't continue the film even if I wanted to (which I do).
REASONS:
- The entire film has been an effort made mostly by myself, as I have to provide a full script, all sets, costumes, among other things. This has proven too much for one person to handle.
- Upon recommendation, I installed Windows 10 Preview onto my computer. Unfortunately, I have discovered it is incompatible with ROBLOX and the solution may not come for several months which would delay the film into 2016. This was the main reason as to the film's cancellation.
- School has required much of my time, and keeping my grades up is difficult with Roblox being a major part of my life.
- The sets I completed have become infected by viruses that would take forever to remove, which was a major kick to me.
- Editing software is hard to come by with my low budget of $0. The film, using my current editing software would take forever to edit.
OUTCOMES:
- The film and all current and future projects for MAYHEM Entertainment have been cancelled. An embarrassing admission for myself.
- I will try my best at keeping in contact with the ROBLOXiwood community. I will hopefully be able to assist with the productions of my friends and business partners, and I will still watch and review films.
- Outside of Roblox I have decided to work on an independent digital comic book series based on what I planned for 'A Mercenary in New York'. It has been my dream for many years to become a comicbook artist, and this is my first shot. I will update on this further on my Twitter.
- For actors cast in the film, I will endorse their castings in future productions, mainly a leading role for EddieScellta in Stone Creek. Cause why not?
- In forums I will release the incomplete script and completed storyline for 'A Mercenary in New York'. This will give people the idea of what the project would have become and hopefully inspire future productions.
For anyone that is inconvenienced for this, I am truly sorry. I wish there was another way but I have found none. It was only this morning that I was sure the film would see release, but within a matter of mere hours my hopes and dreams for ROBLOXiwood were crushed. This is a sad day for myself, as I was especially looking forward to completing my first film and working with friends while doing so. Any questions can be directed to me through PM or on the MAYHEM Entertainment group wall. I apologize to you all, and especially to those whose time I have wasted.
